Cooking on a Budget

Learn essential cooking skills on a budget with our five-week program, including a Level 2 Food and Hygiene Certificate opportunity.

Join our Cooking on a Budget course, a five-week program designed to empower individuals with essential cooking skills while managing costs effectively. Held primarily at St George's Church, York Street, Barnsley, this course runs on Friday evenings from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, with occasional daytime sessions in partnership with BMBC Central Family Centre. The course fee is £5 per person.

Participants have the opportunity to earn a Level 2 Food and Hygiene Certificate, enhancing their culinary knowledge and credentials. We understand the challenges of childcare, which is why we offer a free childcare service staffed by qualified volunteers with DBS checks.

Due to high demand, booking is essential. Reserve your place by calling 07462662292 or booking via our event page at Hope in Community Cooking Course Interest. Since its inception in March 2018, we conduct 4-5 courses annually, thanks to the support from various funding bodies and organizations.
